18th July- The Fest will begin at 6 p.m. with the sale of food and drinks offering a complete bar.  Vendors will be present selling their special variety of dishes, many featuring delicious seafood. This evening is especially for the adult age group with games including hoop-la.  Live entertainment features a popular Bahamian House Band including a fantastic headliner!   Closing time will be approximately 12 Midnight.  There will be a $10 cover charge for the evening’s entertainment.
19th July- This is the “big day/night” for the Fishermen’s Fest with activities lasting from 10 a.m. until 2 a.m.  The day begins with a “family fun day” including games, raffle drawings, face painting, balloon animals, live DJ, local entertainment, delicious food, scrumptious drinks, and photo opportunities.  Information about the Crawfishing Industry will also be available.  Only beer and wine will be sold during our daytime activities. There is a break in the activities at approximately 6 p.m.  The Fishermen’s Fest committee makes adjustments to prepare for the live entertainment and an adult crowd, which starts at about 7:30 p.m.  There will be a cover charge of $15 for the evening.
Raffle drawings will take place along with announcements of the winners of the popular guessing games.  Food and drinks will be available for purchase in addition to other wares such as locally made shell jewelry. Two well known Bahamian Artists will perform creating a night of excitement and the ‘beat’ to dance the night away. The event culminates with a fireworks display creating yet another, memorable event!

Food & Drinks

Food choices are practically endless. We are featuring delicious seafood dishes like crawfish thermadore, conch ‘n’ rice, and fried fish. Outstanding local sweets such as homemade coconut ice cream, coconut pies and guava duff (just to name a few) will tempt almost everyone. Of course, no Bahamian festival would be complete without conch salad and conch fritters!

Strawberry and pina colada daiquiris are a favourite for many while others choose the “Bahama Mama”, “Goombay Smash” or the signature Fest drinks, the “Yellow Jack” and “Blue Runner”. There will be a full bar available on Friday and Saturday evenings to purchase your favourite beverage.

Games for both kids and adults range from “Hoop-La” to the “Fish Pond” while getting a “Lollypop Surprise” in between.  Don’t forget to “Guess Your Luck” in hopes of winning a fantastic prize! Raffle tickets will also be available for the big drawing on Saturday the 19th!
Also featured Saturday afternoon:  Bouncy Castle, balloon darts, “Plinko”, and “7-11”.
